The concepts of morphology and rhythmology, as applied in the education of an architect, are central to the essay; each of those concepts are examined historically, scientifically and according to their contribution to architecture.

The book engages with history of Architecture during the 19th century in Europe and the Unites States; it is divided in three main units: i) Architecture by architects; revolutionary architecture, romantic classicism, eclecticism, historicism and morphology with reference to history within the Greek territory ii) architecture by engineers and gardeners with an emphasis on industrial steel structures, exhibition halls and their influence on architecture (Chicago School) iii) new trends in architecture (Jugenstil, Modern Style, Art Nouveau).
